Peabody/West Elm, a furniture company, needed a flexible space to support a dynamic furniture showroom. The space not only needed to function as a workspace for their employees and product representatives, but also as a venue for hosting events and entertaining clients.
The FOX Architects design team created an open space plan that would allow the furniture to delineate zones. A neutral, but high contrast palette was used architecturally creating a perfect backdrop for the furniture to become the focus. The showroom display desks are wired so that they can be used as touchdown stations for staff and visitors. Custom millwork pieces were designed to facilitate flexibility, including a mobile island that can be rolled away to provide more open space, or rolled into position as a meeting table, catering counter, or space divider.
The Peabody/West Elm Showroom functions just as it was designed. The new space is flexible and functional for employees and product vendors, yet serves as a venue for hosting events and entertaining clients.
