America’s Essential Hospitals was moving into a new office from a previous space that was disconnected through separate office suites. As a healthcare trade association, the organization wanted their new, unified space to support wellness and collaboration among staff.
Our design team was inspired by the organization’s mindset that hospitals are the “center of community.” We manifested this concept by emphasizing community and connection throughout the office. Locating the lobby and café in the center of the space, we created opportunities to connect and guide staff members to these collaborative spaces. Located at 90-degree angles within the floor plan, collaborative spaces create community corners where staff members can meet and mingle. We used reclaimed wood to signify and guide toward these spaces as you move throughout the office. By using glass office fronts, we increased natural light for well-being.
The new office for America’s Essential Hospitals is more conducive to collaboration, is bright and welcoming, and better reflects their work supporting communities through healthcare. Our team implemented a universal office size to create more space for collaboration, conferencing, and connecting.
