American Beverage Association (ABA) is the trade association that represents America’s non-alcoholic beverage industry, including hundreds of beverage brands, distributors and franchise companies. Residing in their original space for 40 years, ABA wanted their new space to reflect their iconic industry. They also wanted their new space to be more open, support their collaborative culture, and be large enough to accommodate industry events, which they had been hosting outside their office.
Our design team generated a spatial diagram in which the ceiling plane connects the space through color-changing LED lighting. We incorporated common materials found in the beverage industry: bottle caps, beverage containers, and glass bottles. The café features a bottle cap backsplash and pendant lights made of recycled beverage containers. A lighted display of beverage container silhouettes illuminates the reception area, while the elevator lobby wall lights up with recycled material made to look like bubbles. The team also incorporated movable partitions in six areas around the office to allow for multi-purpose flexibility and hosting large events.
American Beverage Association’s bright, colorful space is custom-designed for their work and brand. Playful accents make the flexible space fun and enjoyable, complementing the functionality that allows them to host events.
