FOX Architects Recognized by the NAIOP DC | MD with Award of Excellence

WASHINGTON, DC, October, 16 2016 – FOX Architects, LLC, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm, was recognized by NAIOP last night at the Awards of Excellence Gala held at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC. FOX was recognized with an Award of Excellence for their design of Washington REIT’s headquarters. The award was in the Best Interiors: Professional Service/Institutional Tenant space – 10,000 – 25,000 SF category. Additionally, this year, FOX Architects was one of five firms nominated as a NAIOP DC|MD Firm of the Year.

Washington REIT is a value-creation focused owner and operator of high-quality office, retail, and multifamily assets in the Washington Metro Area. The FOX Architects team worked closely with Washington REIT to create a design for a traditional company wanting to move into an untraditional space. Our concept “REIT in Color” was about taking a classic and revitalizing it. Instead of creating a space that changed the way they worked, our team designed a space that helped to enable their work. The dynamic new footprint gave employees numerous work options, such as bar-height benching, cushions for impromptu workstation tag ups, and phone booths for privacy. Our team cultivated a means of wayfinding unique to REIT by creating work pavilions, for collaboration or quiet time, saturated in different colors that stand apart from the neutral floor plan. The reception features a large, movable closet allowing the pantry to open up to host larger events when needed.
