America’s Essential Hospitals, a trade association that represents hundreds of hospitals and health systems, had a previous office space that was separated into different suites and disconnected. As an organization that builds on corporate wellness in the workplace, their design goal was to increase staff interaction and collaboration.
As an organization that champions excellence in healthcare for all, America’s Essential Hospitals believes that hospitals are the “center of community.” Drawing on that idea, the FOX Architects team positioned the lobby and café in the center of the space, and then thoughtfully wove architectural “L” shaped bracket elements and glass panes of natural light throughout the space to help visually guide staff into these collaborative areas. The design team also introduced a universal office size as a driver to allocate more space for collaboration, conferencing, and the cafe. In addition, an abundance of glass was offered allowing for natural light to filter into the space.
America’s Essential Hospitals new office is more conducive to collaboration, is bright and welcoming, and better reflects their work culture.
