Vedder Price, a multi-discipline, global law firm, tasked FOX Architects to design their new office space located in downtown, Washington, DC. The design goal was to create a timeless, professional workspace that reflects the firm's solid reputation. FOX had designed Vedder Price's previous office location and was selected to design their new space in order to accommodate future growth and the addition of their new intellectual property practice group.
The client's workspace features an elegant, central reception area that connects the other office areas to its highly flexible main conference room. Comprised of mostly closed offices, the design solution utilizes translucent glass throughout the space to allow natural light into the reception and hallways while maintaining privacy. The space also features vistas in the corridors for viewing the firm's collection of artwork, a libr-area, high-density filing area, and a modern cafe to promote staff collaboration and interaction. The design is an alternating mix of cold materials, such as glass and stainless steel, with warmer materials, such as wood veneers and warm colors to create a timeless, sophisticated space.
