Reno & Cavanaugh PLLC

Location: Washington, DC
Project Size: 10,000 sf

The design services for this non-traditional law firm were aimed at achieving the Client’s goal of upgrading their image to coincide with the firms lively, non-traditional work style. The design program included creating a more open, highly modern workspace. Concrete flooring is found in the corridors, and glass panels with side lights were inserted in all office and conference room doors to allow as much natural light in as possible into the interior space. A universal office size was implemented to afford Reno & Cavanaugh a high degree of flexibility. A central “hub” of support services, including a library, pantry, and copy area, was designed to be accessible while promoting employee interaction as a gathering area. The reception area continues to follow the non-traditional theme, designed so that administrative staff can monitor the reception area without the need for a full time receptionist. Rather than a formal receptionist desk, a comfortable and inviting seating area welcomes visitors and clients. The attorney’s commitment to sustainability resulted in a LEED Silver certification for their new space.
