Global Impact is a leader in growing global philanthropy that builds partnerships and raises resources that help the world’s most vulnerable people. The organization works with nearly 100 private sector and over 300 public sector entities to generate funding for an alliance of more than 100 international charities, including CARE, Doctors Without Borders, Heifer International, Save the Children, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and World Vision.
Concurrent with designing a new space, Global Impact was also rebranding its mission direction thereby bringing both into alignment. Success for both the new space and the mission rebranding hinged on connections, which is the underlying theme the FOX design team used in creating the new space. The old space had no connection to the charities and Global Impact’s mission. FOX created a space that connected the staff internally, connected Global Impact to its clients and charities it works with, and connected the charitable causes to philanthropies. No matter where one stands in the new space, one has line of sight to the other side of the building – a visual connection.
The design layout lends itself to both physical and social interactions. The concrete floor forms a pathway throughout the space with carpet delineating destinations. Banners along throughout these destinations represent the seven core tenants of Global Impact’s mission. Glass was used to help reinforce connections made throughout the space as evidenced by the glass branding wall in the lobby, which reinforces the connection theme.
