Boland Corporate Headquarters
This HVAC company made their first move after 45 years in their original location. The program for this three-story building included a retail center, warehouse, fitness center, training center, building command center, conference rooms, and a cafe. The space was to house over 200 employees in a diverse range of functions in 15 departments. The design goals for the project were to convey their business through the layout and details of the space and to take a more open office approach which was a departure from their original space which was more of a conservative layout. The Client also wished to display their culture through the use of photographs and prominent quotes lining the walls. In response to the goals set by the Client, the use of exposed ceiling throughout accentuates “what they do,” showcasing the HVAC systems of the space. The exposed concrete floor pattern was in perfect alignment with the exposed HVAC ductwork to create a unique way finding method. Environmental graphics were also designed and strategically placed in the work areas and the lunchroom to provide employees with inspirational quotes. The 50+ person training room is fully equipped with wireless connectivity and a projection screen to accommodate monthly service training programs.
