2001 L Street
The building, constructed in 1985, contains a 3-story lobby and retail arcade located at the corner and along 20th Street. The Ownership's plan was to infill this arcade, extending the existing Second and Third floor levels to the east façade. This created additional ground floor retail area. In concert with this, the main building lobby and entry were relocated to the center of 20th Street, permitting retail to occur on the corner. This added approximately 8,485 gross square feet; or, for zoning purposes, approximately 5,300 gross square feet of FAR. The proposed arcade enclosure required approvals from the District of Columbia Zoning Commission.
