1445 New York Avenue
The design intent for this Spanish real estate holding company was to rejuvenate the common areas to reflect the building’s 19th Century history. This building housed the first bank in the Washington, DC area and is listed on the National Historic Register. The renovations had to work within this unique context to create a complementary aesthetic that would be attentive to the building’s impressive history. The interior renovations included upgrading the core lobbies, restrooms, elevator cabs, and the building’s fitness center. High-end finishes, including marble and glass tiles, were utilized to elevate the grandeur of the space. The building’s upgraded fitness center is prominantly located in the bank’s former vault from the 1800s.
